My Project
My title, Communication and Relationships, reflects where I began and ended with my TLP project. I didn't have a plan when I started, but I knew I needed to start with some aspect of technology as I was a novice. I learned about Edmodo through participating in their Webinars and through other online blogs and discussion boards. I choose Edmodo because it was user-friendly and the possibilities for creativity were vast. Using Edmodo, my students were highly engaged. They were eager to get online, read the warm-ups, post their answers, and discuss with each other. Through their online communication, my students demonstrated respect for each other and other cultures.
My project started with Edmodo, but the Hong Kong partnership brought the communication to a global level and new relationships were formed. My students went from communicating with each other to communicating with students across the world. They chose what they wanted to share about Hammond and themselves, and they created PowerPoint and VoiceThread presentations to share the information. I wanted the title to reflect both of those aspects of my project.
